Personality:

Sulok is rather quiet and shy. Due to neural damage he obtained he cannot fully control his feeling, however he still has enough emotional control to appear rather reserved by human standards. He often feels the need to prove to himself that he can do his job well, despite only recently figuring out who wants to be, which results in him being overeager to do certain tasks at times.

Sarim. Vulcan. Has successfully undergone kolinahr at the age of 25. After successfully purging himself of emotions he started guiding other Vulcans through kolinahr. He married his wife when he was 38 years old.

• Mother

T'Mol. Vulcan. She finished the Vulcan Science Academy and worked in the field of geology for 10 years. At the age of 34 she decided to undergo kolinahr. When she was 40 years old she met Sarim and married him.

• Savak

Vulcan. Sulok's oldest sibling. Savak is around 10 years older than Sulok. When he was 19 years old he escaped from home on a shuttle and since then lived on Earth. On Earth he got a degree in mechanical engineering and worked as an engineer in a small company since then.

• T'Rim

Vulcan. Sulok's older sibling and Alirin's older twin sister. T'Rim is around 5 years older than Sulok. At the age of 20 she had undergone kolinahr. After successfully purging her emotions she decided to follow her mother's steps and started studying geology. At this moment she is working on a Vulcan research ship.

Vulcan. Sulok's older sibling and T'Rim's younger twin sister. Alirin is around 5 years older than Sulok. At the age of 20 she had undergone kolinahr. After successfully purging her emotions she decided to study in medical school. At the moment she is the surgeon on colony in Alpha quadrant.

Chronological History

Sulok was born on the planet of Vulcan. Both of his parents have undergone kolinahr in their early adulthood and Sulok and his siblings were expected to do the same. He and his siblings were never truly close with their parents. The fact that his mom and dad have not been able to feel emotions for a long time prevented them from truly understanding their children's emotional needs and struggles, especially when they were little. Sulok had a close relationship with his siblings, who were all older than him and took care of him where their parents didn't really know how to. He was especially close with the oldest of his siblings, Savak, and spent most of his free time with him up until his brother got close to his adulthood and ran away to Earth to make a career in engineering and escape kolinahr.

He was supposed to start kolinahr at the age of 20, like his brother. By that time his two sisters had already undergone kolinahr, so he didn't have anyone to emphasize with his worries. Two days before his 20 birthday he went out to observe the Vulcan wildlife at night and try to get some of the stress out of him. During his exploration he got close to the local chemical synthesis lab at exactly the wrong time. A leak of a dangerous substance known as trellium-D occurred and Sulok happened to be in the contaminated area. The neurotoxin affected his brain, destroying neural paths that controlled his emotions. Due to swift medical intervention the damage was not extensive, however it prevented his from being fully in control of his emotions at all times and blocked his path to kolinahr. The discovery both lifted up a weight from his shoulder and made the Vulcan feel rather lost. His family didn't help much. They felt nothing about the situation, they tried to support him, but their dispassionate attempts only made him feel worse.

Soon after finding out about his inability to undergo kolinahr Sulok decided to join Savak on Earth and ask for his guidance. His brother gladly accepted his company as Sulok searched for another path of life, than the one he thought he would have to take initially. Remembering his younger brother's fascination with Vulcan wildlife Savak suggested that Sulok might study and work in the field of biology, which Sulok admitted to be a very appealing option. After being locked to only one life path the Vulcan wanted something new in his life. He wanted to find a job that both encompassed his wish for discovery, freedom to explore and fascination with living beings.

A month after his 20th birthday Sulok signed up to join the Starfleet Academy. He studied a science major for four years and then for another four he deepened his knowledge in the fields of biology, chemistry, microbiology and ecology.
