Symbiont

The Fax Symbiont was first joined to a Trill in 1563 and is currently 838 years old. During that time it has seen 12 hosts including Ezri. It is thought to be near the end of it's joinable lifespan. It is likely that after Ezri it will return to the Caves of Mak'ala instead of taking another host although it may possibly allow one or two more depending on how much it grows over Ezri's lifespan.

Fax is susceptible to a rare condition in some Symbionts that causes it to send it's host into Neural Shock when it's host is carried via Transporter. The usual cure for this is 300cc of Drenoctazine although as a rule use of the transporter should be avoided.
