The USS Ronin is an Akira class vessel commissioned during the Dominion War. Like all Akira Class vessels, the Ronin is a heavily armed cruiser with immense fire power but only lacking in defense. With a nominal crew compliment and lack of families permitted on board, the Ronin is deployed as an armoured fighting machine perfect for Deep Space missions.

Speed

The speed of the cruiser is good compared to other cruisers of the same size. While maintaining a cruising speed of warp 6, it can maximum at 9.3 and emergency at 9.8 for 12 hours, more or less labelling this vessel as a 'responsive' vessel in times of need.

  • Normal Cruise : 6
  • Maximum Cruise : 9.3
  • Maximum Rated : 9.8 for 12 hours.

Strength

The Akira Class was built to withstand heavy firepower and to give out a hefty payload. While the armour and hull strength is relatively low compared to the strength of the weapons, the Akira Class integrates a 'shoot now, repair later' policy. However, a good Helmsman and Tactical Officer are required to compensate for the lack of accuracy.

  • Beam Firepower : 350
  • Torpedo Firepower : 3,750
  • Weapon Range and Accuracy : 910
  • Shield Strength : 695
  • Hull Armour : 640
  • Speed : 1,203
  • Combat Manoeuvrability : 1,880
  • Strength Index: 1,493

Shield

The shielding system of the Ronin contains the basics of shielding technology along with a Nutational Shield 3.8 which changes the shield modulation every few seconds. This enhances the defensive capabilities of the large vessel. It is also equipped with a Metaphasic Shield, which is included in most Science and Exploritory Vessels to study a sun's corona for up to 28 hours.

  • Nutational Shield 3.8
  • Metaphasic Shield
  • Standard Shield System
  • Standard Duranium/Tritanium Double Hull
    • 5.4 cm High Density Armour
  • Standard level Structural Integrity Field

Weapons Deployment

  • Main Phaser Array: Type-X Phaser Array x3 (Targanide Crystal)
  • Torpedo Launchers:
    • 3 Forward Standard Photon Torpedo
    • 4 Aft Standard Photon Torpedo
    • 2 Forward Type IIB Pulse Phaser Cannon
    • 2 Forward Quantum (Artificial Quantum Filaments)
    • 1 Aft Quantum (Artificial Quantum Filaments)

Duration Of Service

  • Expected Duration: 80 Years
  • Minor Refit Cycle: 1 Years
  • Major Refit Cycle: 20 Years
