Relationships
Melisenda has a strong relationship with her family. Her mother, Marta Hernandez is the city council leader Sausanio city and her father, Jorge is the colony's main supply requisition manager. She has two brothers: Antonio (older) and Alvaro (younger). Antonio is a high level medical specialist in the field of epidemiology and Alvaro is her most colorful and free spirited relative, performing as a dancer and acrobat for the Federation's Fearless Cirque du Soliel troop.
Melisenda is married to Ashland Orowood, and they have a six year old daughter named Lola (who is friends with Milly Maxwell and Tyva Dal, sometimes forming an adorable but exhausting terror trio for tired parents)
Background
Melisenda grew up on Cendra Colony, one of the oldest Earth colonies in the Alpha quadrant. As a child she enjoyed chasing her brothers around, white water rafting, cooking with her mother and hiking with her father. Melisenda, more than any of her siblings, inherited her father's extreme organizational skills and keen eye for detail. At first she wanted to go into colony requisitions like her father, but she scored particularly high on her aptitude exams in secondary school and Damos Iva, the head of Cedra Colony recommended Melisenda along with four other high-potential colony teens for pre-training in Starfleet Academy. Melisenda did very well and was accepted into Starfleet Academy with an operations specialty.
Personality
Melisenda is a level headed woman with a bright sense of humor, a patient demeanor and a keen intellect. She is detail oriented, extremely organized and very punctual. She enjoyed kayaking, white water rafting, Andorian blues and cooking family dinners alongside her husband and daughter. She is working on perfecting some of her mother's favorite recipes. While not trained, she also likes dancing in the holodeck and singing songs in the shower.
Service History
After graduation Starfleet academy Melisenda served for two years on the USS Kel'viar as an operations officer before accepting a transfer to StarBase 118 in the Cargo control department. Melisenda quickly worked her way up the ranks to Chief of Cargo control, a position she considers her dream job. Longterm officers on Starbase 118 agree that Melisenda is an integral part of the smooth day to day operations of StarBase 118.
