Backstory/Timeline
- Childhood
Baelor grew up in the remote farming community of Ucian. It was there that he developed a keen talent for botany and agriculture working his parents farm with success. He enjoyed the outdoors and working the land.
He had a love of mechanics and even rebuilt and restored an old Falcon T-19 land speeder, an antique from the 2290's.
His life was relatively solitary, home schooled by his mother and away from his sister who left the homestead when he was a boy. His days consisted of studying, reading adventure stories and working on the farm and his various projects.
He loves music of all species and genres but has a special place for El-Aurian symphonies, which his father played in before the Borg came to El-Auria in 2265.
- Early Adulthood
An event occured in Baelor's early 80's that would change his course from farmer to brief stint as smuggler and professional gambler before enrolling in Starfleet at age 89.
When Baelor was 79 his mother and father left to go off world for sometime time. At age 81, a small cult was established nearby the family homestead, led by a rogue Ehrud zealot.
Records are not clear and Baelor's account is incomplete but events occurred that led to the razing of the family's farm and the mysterious death of the Ehrud cult leader as well as significant damage to the surround settlements and the destruction of Baelor's prize Falcon T-19.
The USS Newton was forced to intervene before any more loss of life and property occurred. The cult was dispersed and it's members moved on. The Newton kindly assisted in the rebuilding of the farm and through the interactions with the Captain and crew Baelor gained respect for Starfleet and with it a new found curiousity to see more.
At age 83 his parent came back to the Ucian homestead and after a tense and awkward discussion with Baelor where he told them a heavily edited version of what had happened, he took a transport to the nearest Federation world.
