MISSION SUMMARY

Click sub-headings below to expand or collapse.

Act One

Summary

Start mission in media res, with Astraeus already having been beaming and shuttling down materials for some time. This will allow us to avoid a bulky mission briefing and instead go straight into things with a Captain’s log.

The explosions will happen with a shuttle team having just left or arrived from the planet, and they can assist Astraeus in some way when it comes to stabilizing the orbital station.

Act Two

Summary

With the station’s orbit stabilized for the moment, MSPNPC #1, the Tinalli leader, will contact Astraeus and request help with the investigation into what happened. Make it obvious that the explosions in question were targeted specifically at the stationkeeping thrusters of the station. The trace left behind, which would have been burned up in the atmosphere, is of Balter compound 298, a standard Federation explosive that is stored on board Astraeus.

Only Starfleet uses it regularly, for industrial and military applications, but it is not necessarily a compound that only the Federation uses or has access to. However, first appearances do indicate a Federation replicator signature.

This causes MSPNPC #1 to become highly suspicious of the Starfleet officers. Depending on how the confrontation goes between them and the Starfleet team they’re interacting with, they may attempt to arrest this team.

Act Three

Summary

Mei’konda will convince Tinalli leadership that they need to work together to find the real culprits. PC investigators will find evidence that leads them to the location of the Valcarian team. Backup location: At one of the unsanctioned asteroid habitats listed in the ‘other details’ section of the Tinall page linked above. Again, let players get creative if they have an idea.

Astraeus heads to the location of the Valcarian team, which is awaiting extraction, confrontation ensues, they are either captured or escape at the end.
