Background
The Tholian Assembly employs a rank structure similar to the Federation.
- Fleet General, a flag officer, and equivilant to a Fleet Admiral.
- General, a flag officer, and equivilant to a Admiral.
- Colonel General, a flag officer, and equivilant to a Vice Admiral.
- Major General, a flag officer, and equivilant to a Rear Admiral.
- Commander General, a flag officer, and equivilant to a Fleet Captain.
- Colonel, a senior officer, and equivilant to a Captain.
- Major, a senior officer, and equivilant to a Commander.
- Commander, a mid-level officer, and equivilant to a Lt. Commander.
- Lt. Commander, a mid-level officer, and equivilant to a Lieutenant.
- First Lieutenant, a junior officer, and equivilant to a Lieutenant JG.
- Second Lieutenant, a junior officer, and equivilant to a Ensign.
Tholians rarely display their rank insiginia, which is a purple fire crystal, as they are only for dealing with foreign officers. They're heat patterns of their bodies indicate their rank of authority. Purple fire crystals are able to withstand the heat of their environment, but also are used to decorate their exo-suits while aboard another species' vessel or planet so they are able to be recognized.
