Backstory
T'Pel was born to a human father and Vulcan mother on the planet of Vulcan. Her father, a prominent Xenobiologist from Earth, met her mother on Vulcan while on a research mission for Starfleet. T'Raya, a distinguished graduate of the Vulcan Science Academy, was removed from her lead researcher position for the Academy when T'Pel was born. The family travelled to Earth where T'Pel was inevitably raised, joining Starfleet later than usual at the age of 20. Following in her paternal grandfather's footsteps, the young half-Vulcan dedicated her energies to the field of medicine.
