Personal History:

Dade grew up in Dublin, the large city in the Republic of Ireland, having lived there all his life he now speaks with an Irish accent, but one, which has been worn down by his years, spent away from home. At the age of 16, his adoptive parents divorced and it was that which influenced him to take up a secondary education at the Republic University, studying Civil and Practical Engineering.

Gaining his qualifications in the school, Dade decided that Starfleet seemed like the best career option for him. He had never seen a Starfleet Officer, never mind surrounded by them every waking moment of his life. He looked to it as a chance of finding some security in his home life, working away from all the stresses of a diminishing Republic, under Federation Law.

Dade applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted the same year on his 18th birthday. He trained in various aspects of Operations, Helm and Engineering before his fourth year, in which he specialized in Engineering and Operations; especially Warp Core Maintenance and Impulse Drive, earning himself a position in the 104th “Black Ravens”.

It was the massacre of the Massacre of G'Stantek that made Dade realized his career was veering off into the wrong direction and it took the retirement of his best friend to kick him into touch. He found a place at the Academy to do another extra two years worth of training in an Officer field to graduate, gaining a commission instead of staying a non-commissioned Officer.

Either a blessing or a curse, Dade has a photographic memory. He can remember even the smallest detail and it has come insanely useful to him, to the point where he couldn’t live without it. He has most of the technical books he owns memorized to the letter.

Starbase 118 Ops Assignment

Previously, Dade was assigned to Starbase 118 Operations to lead their new Platoon Unit Dangerous Company under the command of Major Jean-Philippe Hebert. From his previous assignment on the USS Challenger, Dade has been in development with the specialist on board the Base, Rian Tavis to try and develop new equipment.

While on the StarBase, Dade has continued his research into his parent's disapearance. A close friend, Lt. Commander T'Lea has helped him, in a fashion, to take the first steps into uncovering the reason he has never known either one of his biological parents. His first clue came as a holoimage of himself as a young boy with an older, bearded man standing outside a cave. From what he knew of his birth father, Alex Adarnis was a Scientist and an avid Archaelogist.

Exploring the caves, falling down a rather large hole and ending up in a mess, T'Lea and Dade discovered what could have been an abandonned research facility underground. On the floor of one "cell" were the words The Adarnis Project and the name Daedalus etched into the rock walls. Both were curious to Dade and after taking a multitude of holimages, they left.

Dade continues his research.

Hobbies/Interests:

Velocity, Badminton and Cricket. Being very sports orientated, Dade is very competitive when it comes to sport and leisure activities. He reads, writes and plays the violin; both classical and Irish Folk. Although not being of Irish descent, he adores the form of dancing, though he can’t dance himself. He plays pool, snooker and the odd game of Billiards, something his father taught him to do from being young as well as inventing pieces of technology that would be considered ‘junk’ to the average person.

Short Term Goals: Finish his ham sandwich…

Long Term Goals: Lead a squadron of his own.

Personality:

File:DadeKarl.jpg
He Smiles... Honest...

Dade is not one of the people you would have on your ‘dinner party’ guest list. He fits into no section of society other than Marine. While he is a prankster by nature and an all around nice guy, he says what he thinks despite the fact that it may be hurtful or inconvenient. He just doesn’t care. He also smokes, kicks things for no apparent reason and swears when he thinks no one is listening.

Sense of Humor: Insane

Likes: Dade has always loved reading, since being very small. He can sit for hours with a book in his lap. He loves climbing in and out of Engineering, doing his own thing and getting to grips with Starfleet’s latest technology. He likes to be alone sometimes, preferring to sit and think then to be bothered by others. He has a habit of drinking hot water, with nothing in it. He listens to Celtic music and likes the soft and gentle whistle of the panpipes to calm him down. That's after the hefty boxing match with the Brikar.

Dislikes: He despises coffee, drinking tea or warm water instead. He hates becoming ill and speaking to others about himself. He likes to keep his past in the past. He hates falsehood, or insincerity, unless it is met with dubious sarcasm.

Bad Habits/Vices: One of his bad habits is untidiness. He leaves everything everywhere, in his quarters, not around the ship. He likes to drink and does enjoy the odd game of pool, whether gambling for the game or simply playing for fun. His biggest vice is smoking; cigarettes in the 24th century are lovely and non-lethal... but they still stink.

Pet Peeves/Gripes: The sound a phaser makes when it’s loading goes through him. He doesn’t like Counselors, of any kind but only due to his complete intolerance of other people's opinions.

Disappointments: The only major disappointment in his lifetime was not knowing his biological parents. After that, he has been through trial and error relationships that he feels were more of a learning experience then a disappointment.

Illnesses: Never been seriously ill.

Strengths:

He perceives himself to be good at manual and practical tasks, things that require the hands on approach. He has a good physical strength behind him and is a very outgoing person, despite the demeanor he holds. His training in Engineering has made him an excellent thinker, and brilliant at thinking on his feet. He has a good sense of humor, which stops him from becoming to serious about any situation, keeping a level head.

Weaknesses:

Dade is stubborn. It's simple enough to say and simple enough for him to do. Instead of directly taking facts in, he needed them to be proved. He doesn’t take no for an answer, unless he understand it’s within good reason. His skepticism is well founded; coming from the amount of different experiences he had growing up around various races. Hand in hand, he is a very determined individual who tries to get what he wants and utilizes every method. He can be unsociable at times, preferring to sit alone or read away from others. Since his mother was very organized and liked to keep a pristine quarters, Dade’s tendency to be untidy is his small and cheeky way of rebelling against her and his way of ignoring his upbringing.

Phobias: Dade has an intense fear of being buried alive, or mistaken for dead.
