Background
Zera was born on Tellar Prime in 2370 to Bojs(Father) and Op’aag (Mother,) both engineers. Like all Tellarite she had a knack for tinkering with things, but found in early life that she also enjoyed understanding how people feel and think. And with Tellarite being so good in politics, due to their argumentative nature she surmised that that understanding might also translate to the field of Psychology.
Career History
Zera joined Starfleet Academy in 2382.
Zera had more than a few arguments in her time at the Academy, which she relished, being a Tellarite going for a Major in Counseling. Constantly facing the argument that a Tellarite would make a terrible counselor. Arguments are counter intuitive to helping people cope with emotional trauma and the like. Determined to prove them wrong she focused on studying psychology. Of course, she minored in Engineering. After all, she is Tellarite and it’s fun to fix things. Whether it’s people’s emotional states or a replicator, both are gratifying to mend.
Zera graduated from Starfleet Academy at the age of 16 in 2386, since Tellarite reach adulthood at 12 years old.
Zera served on various postings, starting out as Counselor on Starbase 2. She served there as Ensign until 2391 when she was promoted to Lt. JG and transferred to the USS Chesapeake until 2399. Zera was promoted twice during her tour on the Chesapeake. Lieutenant in 2394 and Lt. Commander in 2398. Zera was transferred to the USS Chin’toka in 2399.
