Eugenia grew up on Betazed. She had a fairly normal upbringing, by Betazoid standards. She was always a gifted telepath, which she hated. She longed for more mysteries in life which is what lead her to Starfleet and the chance for exploration. She chose Engineering because the machines didn’t think, they just did their jobs and she had quiet time when she worked with them.
