Starfleet personnel have access to a wide variety of versatile equipment developed by Starfleet R&D and the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. All equipment, including weapons, are primarily designed as tools to assist personnel with accomplishing mission objectives and handling the unexpected scenarios they encounter on the frontier.
