* Try your best to remove formatting from the body of the sim, from location tag to the ending - including bolding, italics, and others.
* Include "TBC" at the end of a sim if the scene is expected to continue (in other words, if you are not ending the scene).

*Include "TAG" at the end of a sim if there are open response tags for other players.
* Split really long sims into multiple parts and label them as such.
*Include "END" or "End scene for [your character]" if you are declaring the end of your scene.
* Include JP in the subject line of any Joint Posts.
* Include BACKSIM in the subject line of any sims that occur in the past and do not advance the story.
* '''Be sure to''' include ''MSNPC'', ''NPC'', ''PNPC''  or any other qualifiers for characters on the subject line.

The most common ending to a sim will be "TAG / TBC".
==== Optional Formatting====
In addition to the standard formatting covered in Tutorial 1, you may (optionally) include the following devices which some simmers find useful:
*Bolding location tags when setting the scene.
*Bolding the names of characters when they are speaking dialogue.
*Italicizing thoughts to differentiate them from other narration / dialogue.
* Including links to wiki articles or relevant media for reference purposes.
Please try to keep your text font, size, colour, etc consistent throughout your sim. Most writing applications and email clients will allow you to set these prior to posting. If you wish to use formatting or images in your signature, you may, but it is not expected or required. Please keep them within reason.

Sim Format

The sim format used on the USS Artemis-A is the one, mostly, learned at the Academy, detailed in Tutorial 1, and continued in the other tutorials.

In addition to these fleet-standard practices, we employ several non-standard devices that should be considered standard for simming on the Artemis:

Ending a Sim

  • Include "TBC" at the end of a sim if the scene is expected to continue (in other words, if you are not ending the scene).
  • Include "TAG" at the end of a sim if there are open response tags for other players.
  • Include "END" or "End scene for [your character]" if you are declaring the end of your scene.

The most common ending to a sim will be "TAG / TBC".

Optional Formatting

In addition to the standard formatting covered in Tutorial 1, you may (optionally) include the following devices which some simmers find useful:

  • Bolding location tags when setting the scene.
  • Bolding the names of characters when they are speaking dialogue.
  • Italicizing thoughts to differentiate them from other narration / dialogue.
  • Including links to wiki articles or relevant media for reference purposes.

Please try to keep your text font, size, colour, etc consistent throughout your sim. Most writing applications and email clients will allow you to set these prior to posting. If you wish to use formatting or images in your signature, you may, but it is not expected or required. Please keep them within reason.
