SHIP'S DEDICATION PLAQUE

Starfleet has a long standing tradition of methods of identifying vessels. In a day and age where a ship is identified by radio and subspace beacons long before you can make out the paint on her hull, Starfleet still stands by these traditions.

Starfleet has a long standing tradition of methods of identifying vessels. In a day and age where a ship is identified by radio and subspace beacons long before you can make out the paint on her hull, Starfleet still stands by these traditions.

One such tradition is the ship's plaque. Upon completion of a vessel, a plaque is made that declares the ships name, registry, class, place of construction, date of completion, and the names and ranks of a few of those people who have proved instrumental in the process.

The Discovery holds with all these traditions, proudly displaying her name and colors on her hull, and having the plaque just inside the bridge near the main turbo-lift.
