The forward section also supports the Brig, a series of cells to contain unruly crew or any other distasteful characters the Morningstar might find herself transporting. The cells are sealed by a dual force field system, with approximately a 2 mm gap between the force fields. This redundancy helps to insure that those in the brig stay in the brig. When in use, the force fields and surveillance of the brig are supplemented by guards posted at a desk at the end of the security block.
The corridor connecting all the cells is also protected by a force field, so even getting out of the cell would not grant someone access to the ship. The entire holding area can be flooded with anesthezine gas to render any excitable or escaping prisoner unconscious.
