Lieutenant Jamie MacNemar is an unconventional and talented engineer recently reassigned to the USS Astraeus. Born Jameson MacNemar on Earth during the leadup to the start of the Dominion War, she was exposed to the sort of fear and uncertainty that hadn't been seen on Humanity's homeworld in generations, and never quite felt like she felt in there. School was difficult for her, though she tended to do better as she grew older and unconventional, hands on learning was encouraged.

As she grew older, space called to her, and after a whole lot of hard work, as well as impressing an officer or two, she was accepted to Starfleet Academy's Engineering course. Jamie needed tutoring to pass almost everything else, but through a lot of hard work, she made it, graduating around the middle of her class in 2395.

In the months leading up to Frontier Day of 2401, Jamie was abducted and replaced by a Changeling infiltrator which took her place on Astraeus. Along with another Changeling, the one masquerading as Jamie was responsible for a highly destructive attack on the ship's Operations center. Jamie was being held by Vadic's forces until the aftermath of the Borg attack, and was rescued by tactical teams shortly thereafter. Though she was not physically tortured by them for information, she was chemically and psychologically interrogated for classified information which would allow her replacement to masquerade as her successfully.

Jamie underwent several months of therapy following her release before being cleared to return to duty, but she isn't the same as she was, now struggling to deal with nightmares after her ordeal.

Appearance

  • Height: 4'10" / 147 cm
  • Weight: 92.5 lbs / 42 kg
  • Hair: Blonde
  • Eyes: Blue
  • Build: Slender

Relationships

  • Michael Reynolds - Father. Amicable relationship.
  • Roisin MacNemar - Mother. Amicable relationship.

Background

Born physically male, by the time Jamie began approaching puberty, it had become evident that she wasn't comfortable the way she was. She decided, with her parents' consent, to undergo partial sex reassignment in the form of hormonal therapy. Despite this, Jamie was, and always will be very small. She's found it an advantage more often than not in her chosen profession as an engineer - easier to fit into small spaces.
