The Thor has sixteen separate science labs located on deck three. There are eight forward and eight after in the saucer section. Between the group of science labs are the science offices. Each lab has its own function. They can easily be converted to accommodate other science functions, but with limited capabilities. Each lab contains five science stations, a holographic table in the center and plenty of storage space. The labs are numbered starting forward of the ship from left to right, top to bottom. The aft labs are numbered the same way.

Science Lab Three is designated for the social sciences. This includes anthropology, communication studies, economics, education, geography, history, law, linguistics, political science, psychology, sociology and xenology. This lab is currently overseen by Tara Wilkins.
