When Keith Holly was in high school, he was sweethearts with  a Betazoid woman named  Karo Zox,  just after high school they married.  There marriage was short and didn’t even last past the honeymoon. When they split, Keith didn’t know she was pregnant.
Karo was graced with a daughter, whom she named Veena. Karo kept Veena a secret from Keith. Karo secretly kept tabs on Keith over the years, including his new family when he remarried.  Karo encouraged her daughter to follow her heart and it led her to Starfleet and upon Veena’s graduation from Starfleet Karo told Veena the truth about her father.
A week after Veena found out the truth, Karo tracked down Keith and told him about their daughter, there was a massive fight between the two of them and they parted on bad terms.


Veena's life was spent among the stars. She was born and raised on Luna Colony, but she was happy and spent a lot of time moving around with unquenchable wanderlust. When Veena was eighteen she headed for Earth. Veena obtained her bachelor’s degree in Nursing, two Doctoral Degrees, the first in Medicine and the Second in Psychoneuroimmunology. When she entered Starfleet she felt all that was left was for her to pass the officer conversion course. When Veena was eighteen she and her bond mate Doxen Kode also got married, and they supported each other through everything, including the birth of their only daughter, Kixen. They were both assigned their first Commission on the USS Venus where they were happy until Doxen's transfer to Luna Colony in 2392. Feeling that a Colony would be the best place for Kixen, Veena insisted he take her with him, and it nearly broke her heart. As such she put up a wall around her heart as she was transferred to the USS Tell.


CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY:

Cenish Saika was a widow with one young son when she met Laz Kubon in 2366. She was working as a record keeper at the Bajoran government building during the Occupation. Laz was a Civilian Negotiator working for Starfleet to work to prepare Bajor for the expected withdrawal of the Cardassians.


Over the next year the two spent a considerable amount of time together which by the time the Occupation had ended and it was time for him to leave, Laz was not interested, instead the following year he pledged his love for Saika by converting to the Bajoran religion and he changed his name legally to reflect Bajoran culture; Kubon Laz.

2369 was a banner year as the Cardassians withdraw from Bajor. It was during this time that Kubon Laz and Saika finally married.


Kubon was born a year later in 2370 and welcomed and embraced by the family. She was a bright child always having an interest in learning new things. With her brother being so much older she spent a lot of time with him once she was able and permitted to and while Mera savored all the time with her brother, Shon was regularly reminded by his Mother that he not get Mera into any trouble.

The life that the Kubon's had on Bajor was a peaceful one, Laz adored the children. As a negotiator he got a steady stream of work and managed to buy a farm in the country where the kids could roam free and happy.
2373 was the year that the Dominion war started, Saika became pregnant and another daughter was born, Dete. Mera was happy to have a sister and welcomed her into the family whole heartedly.
 
The happiness they would have shattered when the Dominion War began and several times Bajor came under attack. Mera and Shon were nearly killed during an attack on the nearest city but thankfully the young boy was able to get them to a safe house.
 
Laz wanted to leave Bajor and return to Earth but Saika wouldn't, she hadn't left because of the Cardassian's she wasn't leaving because of the Founders. Shon ran away and joined the Resistance again to fight against the Dominion; against his Parent's wishes.
 
Thankfully as a child Kubon didn't have to experience the hardships of a long-term war like the Occupation had been. Instead by the time she was 8 it was over and she could return to a normal life. Her brother would return him and enroll in University while she began to consider her future.
 
The young woman decided that she wished to join Starfleet. She couldn't get enough information from her Father. The few times that they travelled to Deep Space Nine the young impressionable girl was completely awed by what she saw.
 
Her Father tried to suggest the Bajoran Military but she wanted to travel the stars and go to Earth. She wanted to meet her other relatives who lived there and join Starfleet. She never wavered about this and every chance she got she brought it up.
 
Finally she talked them into letting her enroll, it was the same year as Bajor joined the UFP, 2388. She decided that she would like to become a security officer, all the tactics and tricks her brother had shown her over the years, the complexities of being part a judicial body appealed to her. Relenting, her parents made arrangements for her to go live on Earth with Laz's parents until she went into the Academy.
