Amity Outpost
For those who have been members continuously for one year.
Awards General RussBar 2011.jpg
Russ Bar 239806.19
USS Constitution-B
One of the most wonderful things about Star Trek is the depth of lore created by it, and one of the most satisfying thing to read is when that lore is artfully incorporated into a sim, giving it that extra bit of both realism and nostalgia. We all know and love our Trek, but there are those amongst us who know it, with a depth and breadth that often surprises and delights us. The Russ Bar is awarded to those amongst us whose knowledge of Trek lore is encyclopaedic, and who incorporate that into their writing. And oh boy, Trek lore is massive after decades of space stories. This writer keeps impressing us with his knowledge of the lore, especially in the technological level, since he joined us on the Conny. These details add to the color of the whole picture, making it easy to imagine these scenes as if they were on the big screen. If you are looking for a detailed description of even minute technological tasks or are curious about other bits of lore others may overlook, you go and ask Travis, the writer behind our own Tech-Vulcan Sirn and the winner of the Russ bar. Congratulations Travis, and well deserved!
Awards General Tosma1 2011.jpg
TOSMA 239806.19
USS Constitution-B
Our last award is give to those writers that show a great dedication in simming, contribute good and solid ideas not only for the plots but also character development. Their sims are of high quality and worthy of The Order of Starfleet Merit and Achievement First Class, or short TOSMA. TOSMA recipients represent our most well-rounded writers. They submit regular, high quality sims and demonstrate good character development and insight, plot advancement and development and character interaction and teamwork. We are proud to present this year’s TOSMA to a new addition who has rapidly become part of the family. Congratulations Travis, writer of Sirn.
Awards General SilverPalm 2011.jpg
Silver Palm 240007.04
Amity Outpost
Awarded to individuals who are renowned to offer that spark to a plot when it is lagging, or to consistently bring fun or a touch of humour to the sim, while keeping such sims current and realistic. They constantly raise their crew's morale in a variety of methods, including Out of Character.
Awards General SheathedSword 2011.jpg
Sheathed Sword 240007.04
Amity Outpost
Awarded to individuals who choose to inflict mental and/or physical suffering on their character, then dig into the following feelings and decisions in a realistic manner. The term is derived from a passage in a Robert Jordan novel in which a warrior must be prepared to 'sheath the sword' in their own body, i.e. incur a painful wound to attain one's objective (in this case, more realistic simming) rather than a genuine aim of the character.
