==Personal information==

Blake's life revolves near-exclusively around her job in the [[Shoals]]. Her position aboard the ''Veritas'' and her role as a Starfleet Ranger provides her with a purpose she didn't have prior to re-joining [[Starfleet]]. Because of this, she takes threats to either ''Veritas'' and its crew (or the [[Shoals]] region) incredibly seriously and becomes frustrated when her fellows don't show the same level of commitment to the rules and regulations of the areas—such as [[Kelrod]] discharging a phaser to stop an escalating physical conflict in a [[Ketar V]] establishment, which ultimately lands he, [[Wil Ukinix]], and their captain [[Roshanara Rahman]] in Colonial Coalition Marshals holding cells.  

Blake sometimes struggles to "switch off" from her duties, making it hard for others to connect with her on a personal level. Some may find it easier to only engage with Blake on duty, but with persistence, it is possible to break through her all-work-no-play psyche, revealing an easy-going woman who cares deeply about the members of her crew. She surrounds herself deliberately with colour, having subscribed rather heavily into Ornaran colour psychology, and is considerably bright and charismatic when faced with relaxed social settings that don’t involve her Starfleet uniform.  

Blake is strict upon herself and tries her best to abide by social norms, rules, and laws of other cultures or colonies, even when doing so may directly contradict her duty as a Starfleet officer. This has been known to sometimes cause friction with her Starfleet crew, as she may place the requirements of a Coalition colony above that of her ship, and become perplexed when others don't do the same.

Though Blake did attend Starfleet Academy, she recalls incredibly little of it due to an ongoing case of retrograde amnesia. She sees herself as the least experienced of the officers aboard ''Veritas'' and continues to study during her off-hours to stay up to date with Starfleet operations. She relies often on her crewmates counsel for most matters, but is a fast learner and typically relies upon her own lack of experience to give her a different perspective when in conflicts. Blake will ask questions and press for more information when she feels she does not have all the answers she requires, though admittedly becomes frustrated if others refuse to provide them.

If irritated, she becomes cold and blunt. However, she will not raise her voice when speaking to others. On duty, however, Blake is occasionally referred to the ‘doom and gloom’ character by her fellow crew and has been heard verbalizing worst-case scenarios sometimes to a point of fault, though most of her potential suggestions or outcomes leave openings for others to provide significantly better counter-proposals.

 

Ever since leaving Brekka in 2391, Blake considers herself a nomad. Though having technically served aboard the same vessel for four years, she struggles to set down roots, constantly finding another purpose off-ship. As such, her quarters are often sparse, and Blake is seemingly ready to take off on her next mission at a moment's notice. Despite her concern that her never-ending wandering across the galaxy to find her proverbial place may affect her children, she has yet to provide herself stability or attach herself to one place. Curiously, however, Blake ''does'' form attachments with her fellow Starfleet officers, and seems to consistently cling to the security they (as individual people) provide. Such forms the base of her relationship with [[Zhou Tai-Sheng]].
