The USS Ronin is an [[ma:Akira class|Akira]] class vessel commissioned during the Dominion War. Like all Akira Class vessels, the Ronin is a heavily armed cruiser with immense fire power but only lacking in defense. With a nominal crew compliment and lack of families permitted on board, the Ronin is deployed as an armoured fighting machine perfect for Deep Space missions.

The shielding system of the ''Ronin'' contains the basics of shielding technology along with a Nutational Shield 3.8 which changes the shield modulation every few seconds.  This enhances the defensive capabilities of the large vessel.  It is also equipped with a Metaphasic Shield, which is included in most Science and Exploritory Vessels to study a sun's corona for up to 28 hours.

The USS Ronin is an Akira class vessel commissioned during the later days of the Dominion War.
