Personal History
Meltak is an old, grizzled and honourable Klingon who runs a medium but noble House. They have many patches of land and are prosperous but do not hold a seat on The High Council. Meltak is also a veteran commander in the Klingon Defense Force and has commanded ships of the line for decades. He is proficient in battle, but laments that he's sometimes too good as he is yet to die in combat.
In 2383, he enlisted the help of Starfleet Intelligence to uncover a plot made by a rival house to assassinate Meltak and usurp their lands, since his son and heir-apparent, T'Wrath, was not yet of age to take over the running of the house. Starfleet assigned Lt.Commander Danny Wilde to the case and together they uncovered the plot and thwarted the rival house. Meltak was extremely grateful for his skill - and perhaps more importantly - his discretion as a human and a Starfleet officer, and inducted him into the House of Meltak with all rights and privileges. The two families have had a strong bond since that time. Danny is especially close to T'Wrath, and the two consider themselves blood brothers.
In 2387, a young Regan Wilde travelled to Qo'noS to live with the Klingons and train in the arts of the warrior. He lived with Meltak and his family for a year and learned all about combat, Klingon traditions and the Klingon way of life. He struck up a close bond with T'Wrath, and the two share a strong friendship. Regan never talks about it, but during a spar things got a little heated and T'Wrath instigated mating rituals and proposed marriage. He respectfully declined, stating that he was too young to accept and didn't want to be a burden to T'Wrath when he eventually took over the mantle of running the house. Meltak believes T'Wrath should have a blood son and heir, and while same-sex relationships are not frowned upon or considered dishonourable in the Empire, T'Wrath not having a legitimate heir would damage the House in the future. Meltak is very fond of Regan, and boasted that "Any man who would willingly go to bed with a Klingon Warrior, must himself truly have the Heart of a Warrior!"
Meltak is old and proud, but wishes death in a glorious battle to be with his beloved wife in Sto'Vo'Kor.
