Service Ribbons
During his first tour of duty, Hiro earned many ribbons and acknowledgements. After leaving Starfleet, he struggled with his identity. There had been such an emphasis on accomplishment that he'd lost sight of the purpose of counseling. Following a tragic personal event that inspired Hiro to return to the fleet, he requested his old ribbons be expunged from his record, lest they be a temptation to fall into old habits. The only one he kept from the first tour was his original Academy graduation ribbon.
