Awards
- Prantares Ribbon: 238301.10 - Awarded to those medical officers who has moved beyond competence to display a true gift for the healing arts in the context of space medicine. The officers given this award should display the ability to keep a steady hand in the often hazardous conditions in which they must practice, as well as the willingness to risk their own life to save the lives of others.
- Silver Palm Award: 238301.10 - Awarded to a simmer who has consistantly boosted the morale of his/her crew. The recipient will be known to be able to add that spark to a plot whenever it may be lagging, or may be able to consistantly bring enjoyment or a bit of humour to the sim, whilst keeping such sims relevant and realistic.
- TOSMA I Award: 238401.01 - This award is given to members who show great dedication in their behavior, and simming abilities. A candidate for TOSMA I regularly contributes good, solid ideas to the plot and character development. They also take the time to edit and proof-read their sims to ensure quality in their writing.
- Neelix Award: 238401.01 - For extra, out of character, simming devotion. This includes, helping fellow officers who are in need of simming aid, running OOC sims, upkeep of web pages, etc.
- The Sheathed Sword: 238501.01 - Presented to those to decide to inflict injury on their character, and then dive into the resulting emotions and choices in a realistic manner. The name comes from line in a Robert Jordan book where a warrior must be prepared to "Sheath the Sword" in his own body, i.e. to take a grievous wound to achieve your goal, in this case more realistic SIMming as opposed to an actual goal of the character like the established award.
- The Prantares Ribbon Medical: 238501.01 - Awarded to those medical officers who have moved beyond competence to display a true gift for the healing arts in the context of space medicine. The officers given this award should display the ability to keep a steady hand in the often hazardous conditions in which they must practice, as well as the willingness to risk their own life to save the lives of others.
Personal History
Organized, can be difficult to work with. Remembers things and needs to have it all fit neatly together. Has a peculiar sense of humor that makes itself present during stressful times and may be inappropriate.
An accident during a rock climbing venture on Earth at age 13 resulted in local doctors wanting to amputate Julia's leg but her mother wouldn't allow it. Julia suffered surgery to install a metal rod, then several skin grafts. Sent back to the family quarters on the USS Horizon to recuperate, somehow infection set in and another surgery was performed to remove the decaying tissue. She took an active role in her recovery and a year later was walking on her own, her limp barely visible.
That same year, her father died in a freak accident on the holodeck when safety protocols were mistakenly disabled. Julia's mother went into shock over her beloved husband's death and never recovered.
Star Fleet transferred her to Tychoville base where she did research under close covert supervision. Julia and her brother accompanied their mother to Tychoville and were semi-raised by the base personnel.
Years later, Brett Harden surfaced to tell his baby sister that their mother had died peacefully. He had joined StarFleet Marines, rose to the rank of colonel and on his way to his next assignment, visited her on the USS Victory. They had three hours together before he left. Leading the away mission to a Romulan space station to rescue a platoon of marines, Julia discovered her brother was the leader and been killed just prior to her arrival. He died honorably, a hero in his men’s eyes.
Julia's leg became re-infected prior to being assigned to SB118 OPS. The bone was damaged beyond repair. She was fitted with a bionic lower leg leaving the knee intact.
Her life changed drastically during a mission preluding her commander's exam. She was subjected to the removal of her blood and in the process an abortion was performed leaving her unable to ever have children. The post-mission physical revealed the removal of the fetus of which she had been unaware.
Fleet Captain Rocar Drawoh recalled Lt. Jacen Fanel's team to assist with Cmdr. Harden's mission.
Returning to SB118, Julia discovered that Dr. Diamond was asked to return to Earth to instruct at Starfleet Medical Academy. Now, truly alone, Julia was faced with a decision. To hide in her office within the vast medical center or to face life and start anew. It would take a long time for her to decide.
238507.20: Cmdr. Cura Assanti, now divorced from John Stone and John Jr. recently born, is assigned as commanding officer of the USS Indria-A, newly launched. Contacting Dr. Harden, Cura expresses her wishes that Julia take over the care of her son. Julia enthusiastically agrees. Within five minutes, she wonders if she's done the right thing.
At this same time, Julia finds that she is becoming friends with a new face joining the crew, Jansen Orrey. They share a dinner whose memories will remain with Julia forever. Then suddenly, Jansen leaves the station. Julia searched the medical database but could find no record of him.
238511.06: Transfered to the USS Indria.
