Stardate 238605.27

On Stardate 238605.27 the squadron was used in the defense of the USS Ronin, after it became apparent the "Romulans" could be planning an attack on the almost defenceless USS Ronin. Captain Walker gave the order for all Shuttle Craft and Fighters to attack the Romulans with everything they had. During this attack 3rd Squadron took heavy losses and lost 12 out of 32 personnel who all gave their lives to save the USS Ronin, part of the overall 89 lives lost that day. This was the first major engagement in which the FA-181 Hammerheads were used, and it is a testament to their pilots and their designers that none of their number were lost. It is no doubt thanks to those men that no more than 89 were lost in the battle.
