Hi Jackford,
I don't mind the pages being edited, although I've worked hard to get them set up so they are easily updated and the way I like them, but before you leave, would you make sure they are showing correctly? Toni 22:25, 2 May 2007 (CDT)Toni
?
Toni, please define "Player Non-Playing Characters" for me. It sounds like an oxymoron. Do you mean NPCs that are specific to PCs, rather than those NPCs that anyone can use? -Varaan
- I don't know what else to call them. They are NPC's created by and played by only specific PCs. We needed them separated, to avoid having them listed with the Ship NPCs that anyone can play. If there is a better way of establishing that difference, I would be greatful for the suggestion. T'Pen refers to them as "PNPCs" which I assume means "Player Non-Playing Characters" Toni 10:44, 16 May 2007 (CDT)
- Could also mean "Personal NPCs"(?) Might be a better term to use, to avoid confusion. -Varaan 11:13, 16 May 2007 (CDT)
- Sounds good to me. Whichever you think would be best if fine with me. Toni 06:26, 17 May 2007 (CDT)
Generic names for ship pages
Toni, please remember that any pages that apply to a specific ship, race, duty post, etc. need to be specifically named. For example, you can't use "Personal NPCs" for the Ronin, because it's possible another ship might want to create a page called "Personal NPCs" for their ship, as well. Each page's name is unique, and must be different from other pages. Thus, if you want to create a page like "Personal NPCs" for the Ronin, it needs to be "Ronin Personal NPCs." There's more information at Naming pages properly. --Wolf /talk page 19:15, 10 July 2007 (CDT)
Sorry sir, I will try to remember. This has not been my week, and I do apologize for the error. Toni 03:01, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
- It's alright Toni, we're all human and we all make mistakes. I hope the week hasn't been too bad and that things improve. Oh, and keep up the good work :) - JayTalk 04:22, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
Thanks, Jay. I really enjoy the variety on tasks. Toni 10:33, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
- Not a problem. I've seen praise recently for Varaan and myself from a few corners but people like yourself and Cody contribute a lot and we do appreciate that. Building a Wiki is a team effort, wouldn't be the same without the contributions of yourself and others. Oh, btw, if you reply on our talk pages, we don't have to go through the "recent changes" page to see if you've replied ;) - JayTalk 12:03, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
Change to rosters
Seems like no one noticed this? :) Talk:Challenger Non-Playing Character Listing --Wolf /talk page 10:30, 26 August 2007 (CDT)
Sorry about that, Sir. I have been busy for the past week, but I have installed it on our NPC page. What I see happening is that it overlaps the menu, and there it really no room for an image. I think if we lowered the font size to 1 then it will be fine. Toni 23:19, 27 August 2007 (CDT)
Whilst you're doing the NPC pages, if you aren't going to use each page anymore, can you just type {{delete}} onto them just so it's clear and we can delete the page. Cheers - JayTalk 05:56, 31 August 2007 (CDT)
Sure, will be happy to do that for you. Toni 18:18, 1 September 2007 (CDT)
Boslics
Toni, I deleted the Boslic category the first time because there should only be a category if there is more than one thing to categorize :) --Wolf /talk page 21:20, 4 September 2007 (CDT)
Okay, sir, I wasn't aware that one had been made. Should I take the link off of Hella's page and do away with it the Boslic species page? Toni 15:21, 5 September 2007 (CDT)
Insignias
Hi, I found the insignias for Starfleet for the new Challenger NPC listing, but do we have insignias of the same size for the Marines? The ones I have for Colonel are not the same size. Toni 17:39, 11 September 2007 (CDT)
- Can you not crop them? Remove some of the bar to make them the same size? - Lt.JG SalakTalk[ 03:49, 12 September 2007 (CDT)
Yes, I can do that. No problem. Just didn't know if you guys had some uploaded already. Toni 16:28, 12 September 2007 (CDT)
- I'm not sure. I know I had to crop pips for Admiral Anassasi last year but I'm yet to be on a ship with marines so I can say that I haven't. Someone else may have done though. - Lt.JG SalakTalk 04:45, 13 September 2007 (CDT)
No problem, I fixed the ones that were needed, and will all some as they become necessary. I'm pretty sure that the Challenger is the only ship in the fleet that utilizes Marines to any large extent, so the probablity of pips for them already being uploaded are null. Toni 09:26, 15 September 2007 (CDT)
Categorizing
Toni, the category "Characters" is for primary characters, or secondary characters on a different ship. NPC characters should be listed as such in the "Non-Playing Character" category. This is mostly because I'm extremely picky about organizing things, but also to avoid confusion on who's an NPC and who isn't. Thanks. -Varaan 09:55, 24 September 2007 (CDT)
Understood. Toni 14:28, 28 September 2007 (CDT)
Willyard, Ashlyn
Not quite sure WHY this page should be deleted. The character maybe decased, indeed, but has been part of the plot in the past surely? As such, they may yet be mentioned in the future and thus info on the character may still be useful. Also, the character is part of the Challenger's and the groups history, thus I'm reluctant to delete it. - Lt.JG SalakTalk 13:02, 29 September 2007 (CDT)
Okay, up to you. Her twin sister is the NPC that replaced her. Are there any links to it, if not I will put one from her sister's page. Toni 15:14, 29 September 2007 (CDT)
- It's linked to from this talk page, from Ashlyn Willyard which is a redirect, and also from Turner, Toni. Easy to find out, on the left hand side just below search, the first option in the toolbox is "what links here". - Lt.JG SalakTalk 05:58, 30 September 2007 (CDT)
DS24 Naming
Uh...wouldn't this be more appropriate if it was named "Deep Space 24"? You could still have the Challenger category associated with it. -Varaan 09:40, 18 January 2008 (CST)
Sure Deep Space 24 would be good. Thanks for suggesting it. We had only referred to it as DS24, and I didn't think about calling it anything else at the time. Good Call. :) Toni 10:42, 18 January 2008 (CST)
Attention
Please see Talk:Turner, Toni. - Lt. SalakTalk 15:42, 25 February 2008 (CST)
Rank Pips
I've just spotted the Marines Major rank pip you uploaded a week or two ago. Are you aware of Category:Pips? Rank insignia for Majors can already be found at Category:Marines Major Rank Pips. - Lt. Salak Talk 16:40, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
No, I had made a page for the Challenger Marine pips, but you took it down, so when I went to find them they were no longer where I put them, and there was no indication of where you had moved them... thus the upload. :) Toni 14:03, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
- Ah! i overhauled the whole lot over the course of 4 months (Sept - Jan). If you click on any pip image, they're all in categories now within the same framework. Should be easy to find any pip you want now. - Lt. Salak Talk 14:06, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
Thanks for letting me know, Actually it took some doing for me to get the the correct size.Toni 14:09, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
Challenger
Challenger Small Craft Assignment and Challenger Shuttle Bay seem to overlap. Can we keep the bay on one page and craft on the other please, or failing that merge the two into one page. - Lt. Salak Talk 18:03, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
Fine with me. Another player and I were looking for the names today, and that was all we could find linked to the Tour, and didn't realize there were two pages. Toni 23:45, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
After looking at the two pages... one is for the Marines, listing fighters. The other is listing the shuttles.Toni 23:47, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
- In that case, can they be named appropriately such that it is obvious? (*tries submitting this a 3rd time, hoping not to get an Edit Conflict this time*) - Lt. Salak Talk 23:49, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
Sure, go ahead, name they what you like. (*tries to figure out what you are taking about on Edit Conflict above) Toni 23:53, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
By the way, what did "last chance" mean on the message notification? Toni 23:57, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
On the notice that I had a new message, it was written at the side of it. Toni 19:57, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
- Last chance? Off the top of my head, I recall a "last" or "Diff" button (to see last edit/differences since last edit or something) but can't remember for sure. Guess seeing it is second nature, don't tend to think about it :) - Lt. Salak Talk 20:49, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Ah, I see. Thanks Toni 09:56, 28 April 2008 (EDT)
Indy
By "edit conflict" above, I meant that we were both editing at the same time and you kept saving the page whilst I was editing, so it wouldn't let me save. Anyway; I'm actually typing to raise Independence-A Multi-Vector Assault Mode with you. What's the point of the page? The sections the ship splits into are on the Deck Listing. As for explaning the mode itself, a link to the MA article would prob suffice. Seems quite pointless as is, with a couple of pics duplicating elsewhere within the Indy area. - Lt. Salak Talk 04:09, 27 May 2008 (EDT)
The point of that page was to show the separations of the ship that were too easily missed on the other page with the deck layout. Toni 16:34, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- In that case, might a link to ma:Multi-vector assault mode suffice? Also, for the record, you're meant to reply on the other persons talk page so we get a notification that someone's talking to us. Not a big problem though, a lot of people seem to miss that tidbit. :) - Lt. Salak Talk 16:42, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
Sure the link is fine. No, didn't know about putting it on the other person's talk page. All I ever saw was "On talk pages, please sign your comment by typing four tildes (Toni 16:48, 3 June 2008 (EDT))." Toni 16:48, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
Turner, Toni
Further to the point raised by e-mail, you seem to have restored the link to Toni's Feelings for Heath. Do you want that page restored? - Lt. Salak Talk 17:09, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
Awards
I still don't understand why I can't put Awards on my page. They are a part of my Service history aren't they? Toni 20:18, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
