Personality
Indah speaks with in a clipped tone that some might initially mistake as rudeness, but is not the case. Although she does have a limit to her social battery owing to the rare circumstances surrounding her Betazoid telepathy and empathy, she does make an effort to interact with her fellow crew members. That said, she prefers to spend shore leave alone and in remote places so that she can properly decompress and isolate herself from the constant telepathic/empathic noise that humanoids generate.
Background
Indah Nirid was born on Betazed on Stardate 236409.26. Usually, she was born with her telepathic and empathic abilities activated (most Betazoid develop these abilities in adolescence. Most Betazoids in this situation require extensive counselling and psychiatric interventions. While Indah did spend time undergoing therapy, she displayed a remarkable ability to interact and socialise with those she came into contacts, despite her inability to filter out the thoughts and feelings of others. Many people during her youth tended to write her off on account on her perceived 'difficulties' and she delighted when she was able to prove these people wrong and defy their expectations.
STARFLEET CAREER : USS 'OUMUAMUA
By 2400, she was assigned to the command division of the USS Oumuamua as a Special Operations Officer. She also oversaw command of Delta Shift, the 'night shift'. Following Commander Etan Iljor's promotion to Commander and First Officer, she congratulated him before he relieved her.
