Thorus Noldo

Thorus Noldo was an admiral of a fleet of nomadic Rodulan pirates during the Cardassian Occupation of Rodul. He was a skilled leader and brilliant tactician and the father of Tarrik Tarkin.

Chronological History

  • 2146 Thorus Noldo, Tarrik's father, is born to Trista Noldo on Rodul
  • 2176 Thorus begins long range trade expeditions financed by his mothers trade empire
  • 2235 Thorus is attacked by Ferengi pirates. He loses a shipment but returns home with his crew safe after an extremely tense business negotiation. He no longer travels beyond Rodul space without a large combat detachment escorting him
  • 2240 Entrepreneurs of trade and their bodyguards begin to accompany Thorus' heavily guarded ship for safety into far away trade ports and a fleet begins to form around him of those riding in his now militarized wake
  • 2242 Thorus signs all those traveling with him into a contract for defense where dues are paid to his family's business
  • 2263 The fleet of merchants and mercenaries under Thorus begins to develop its own cultural identity and customs as the group regularly heads out together for trade expeditions
  • 2325 The Cardassians occupy Rodul. The occupation scatters the Noldo family trade empire. Thorus is on an expedition when the planet is occupied and takes on a nomadic life among his fleet of trade ships, avoiding home for the duration of the occupation as the group becomes less of a corporate partnership and more of a loose tribe of nomads with a now fully evolved but still distinctly Rodulan culture Communication between him and Trista is lost
  • 2326 Thorus' fleet begin to operate as pirates targeting civilian vessels or other soft but exclusively Cardassian targets where they can. They pillage and plunder all they find and leave few survivors each time before going back into hiding. They gain a reputation with merchants and others traveling through space, and on a handful of planets, near their more frequent hideouts, all within small pockets of Cardassian space
  • 2328 - Racism among the crews of Thorus' fleet has become nonexistent after years of close cooperation and integrated living spaces, interracial relationships are common
  • 2337 - Thorus' fleet encounters a rogue planet while hiding in space away from any star systems. The inhabitants have enjoyed a lack of resource scarcity since early in their species evolution. The vast majority of their cultural values and technological advancements were based on medical development rather than warfare as the lack of resource scarcity meant there was never a great motive for large scale conflict. Recently their planet had passed by a system with carnivorous, violent creatures capable of short range space travel biologically that migrated to the planet while it was passing by. The invasive species is destroying the planet's underground cities. They employ Thorus and his militarized fleet to assist them in exchange for a large amount of deuterium and warp plasma. In addition Thorus is personally rewarded with a single vial of serum that he is told "will increase the lifespan of any Rodulan by 100 years". Realizing he lives a dangerous and violent life as the leader of a band of nomadic space pirates he pockets it rather than risking taking it himself only to be killed before ever seeing old age. They leave the rogue planet to drift on and it's location is forever lost
  • 2348 - Thorus returns home alongside his fleet as the occupation of Rodul ends, settling into whatever new lives they can make for themselves in the aftermath. The other crews take their ships with them to start new lives. He starts a modest trading company using his final remaining ship as a single vessel enterprise but enjoys the benefits of having a network of people from the fleet he can call upon in times of need
  • 2356 - The vast majority of the Noldo family has been located in mass graves post occupation and the rest have been declared missing for years leaving only Thorus behind
  • 2359 - Thorus meets Eluana and discovers her true gender with ESP. He begins to frequent Tutatuband Station and extending his stays there for longer and longer periods to spend time with her
  • 2356 - Thorus gifts Eluana the serum he was given by the inhabitants of the rogue planet
  • 2373 - Thorus convinces Eluana to return to Rodul with the intention to raise a child there
  • 2375 - Tarrik Nol'Gylar is born to Eluana Gylar and Thorus Noldo on Tutatuband Station. They leave sooner than they planned to Rodul on a private shuttle in light of this surprise shortly after his birth. They face mechanical difficulties with the life support system and are forced to sacrifice themselves for Tarrik, unable to make the journey to Rodul with only enough life support to send the infant back alone. He's placed in the care of the Tarkin family and Eluana and Thorus' bodies are never recovered, lost to the abyss
