The station was all most mothballed and on a closer list for several decades until the Dominion War. The Station was reactivated back to full active service.
The station was once seized by the Klingon's and was held as a Trophy for a little less than a year until retook by by the federation.
Deep Space 224 is currently the only station in the Borderland that is Active.
