Commemorative Coins are an out of character decoration presented to players on a fleetwide level, given for anniversaries and special occasions worthy of commemoration.
IC vs. OOC
The difference between awards, pennants, badges, service ribbons, and commemorative coins:
- awards and badges: Presented for OOC accomplishments by an individual simmer/writer. Awards and badges can be displayed on any and all characters' pages of that simmer/writer.
- service ribbons: Presented for IC performed by a specific character. Service ribbons can only be displayed on that specific character's page.
- pennants: Presented for OOC accomplishments by a united crew. Pennants can be displayed on simming installation pages.
- commemorative coins: Presented for entire Fleet accomplishments or to commemorate specific Fleetwide anniversaries.
Displaying Coins
On the 118 Wiki
To easily display commemorative coin on a bio or service rack, use Template:Badge or Template:Badge Rack.
On the 118 Forums
To display your coins on the forums:
- Go to Category:Commemorative Coins to find the actual image file used for the coin you want to display. For example, File:Per Aspera Ad Astra Commemorative Coin.png.
- Click on the image until you get to the image itself (not the image's wiki page) to see the raw URL of the badge image. For example: https://wiki.starbase118.net/wiki/images/c/cf/Per_Aspera_Ad_Astra_Commemorative_Coin.png
- Copy and paste the URL of the image into your forum signature or post using the "Insert other media" button and then the "Insert image from URL" button.
