| The [[Raytas Sector]], the primary patrol location of the proposed [[USS Athena]], is unexplored due to Starfleet’s insisted buffer between the [[ma:Dominion|Dominion]] and the [[ma:Federation|Federation]]. Since the end of the Dominion War 18 years previous, no genuine effort has been made to repair relations with them. Task Force Hope is an ambassadorial initiative to improve Starfleet’s presence on our side while creating a friendly and co-existing environment with the Dominion and other powers within the sector. Task Force Hope would be under the command of Rear Admiral Gordon Robertson, based at DS0X1 Station which would be commanded by Captain [[Faranster, Shelther|Shelther Faranster]]. | At present, we have successfully negotiated a base establishment agreement with the Dominion as they have agreed to allow the construction of a Watchtower class starbase on the Gamma Quadrant side of the wormhole and have also agreed to an exploration treaty giving the Federation tacit approval to explore areas of space not claimed by their government. The [[USS Doyle-A]] and the [[USS Aurora]] will be assigned as support, the one being a diplomatic platform and the other dedicated to surveying respectively.

| Also, the Dominion have agreed to allow a [[ma:Vorta|Vorta]] and his bodyguards to reside on the station as a liaison. I have high hopes of the success of this operation since our relationship has been built upon mistrust and war; I firmly believe Captain Faranster and Captain Faranfey can sway the Dominion to see the Federation and Starfleet for what they truly are. A government dedicated to the betterment of all species and focusing on learning as much as we can about the world around us.

The Raytas Sector, the primary patrol location of the proposed USS Athena, is unexplored due to Starfleet’s insisted buffer between the Dominion and the Federation. Task Force Hope it the preliminary idea for a more expanded exploration of the Gamma Quadrant.
In December of 2392, the USS Doyle-A and USS Victory were added to the task force.
