USS Thor
Personal Log, Stardate 239706.07 Well, this is my first entry into my personal log since coming onboard the USS Thor. Oh, by the way, it is Stardate 239706.07. I got acquainted with the Science Lab the Chief Science Officer assigned for me. It is bigger than I thought it would be. I was working with Crewman Kook. He seems like a nice kid. He’s fresh out of basic training and seems eager to get to work. brief pause We were trying to rescue some colonists that were lost over two hundred years ago. It was some sort of time displacement. We never did discover how it happened, but at least we saved the colonists. I kind of messed up too. I was so engrossed into my work trying to figure out the nature of the temporal shift that I missed a call from Captain Kells. Not a very good move on my part. It was my first contact with the new CO too. I was so busy trying to do the best work possible that I made my biggest mistake since joining StarFleet. As Alieth would say, just take it as a learning experience. She said those words during our junior officer get together at the Kofi Bar on Duronis II. Alieth seems fine for a Vulcan. They are always so hard for me to read since they are mostly expressionless. Oh, my CSO is a Vulcan too, Lorian Lovar, but he likes to show his emotions. I found it shocking at first, but I got use to it. I really should get in touch with my family. I haven’t touched base with them since I graduated from Princeton. I don’t know why I’m putting it off. Maybe because my mother is not to keen on my joining StarFleet. Well, I guess that just about wraps it up. So, um, signing off. |
Personal Log, Stardate 239708.18 Tara Wilkins’ personal logs, stardate 239708.18. I never know what to say in these things. I mean how personal am I suppose to be? I should ask others what they put in their logs. We were hit by something that tore apart the port side of the USS Thor. I was in the science lab and I could feel it. Sensors were down so we couldn’t get an accurate reading of what just hit us. The XO, who was commanding at the time, ordered me to rig up some EVA suits. I really have no idea about engineering type of stuff, but I was going to try the best that I could. There was some type of biomass that lodged itself in the side of the ship. Medical couldn’t make a determination of what it was. Beginning a science officer my first thought was that it was biologically engineered to be used as a weapon. I’ll have to ask Emond what she discovered about the biomass. She was better equipped for handling research on it then I was. Command had me back up in the bridge again. I don’t know why but I always get so uncomfortable when I’m there. I guess with all the big brass make me uneasy. I did have some great bonding time with Captain Kells as we observed gormaganders. I think he was impressed with my knowledge of them. Yet, I don’t know if my performance is being satisfactory for him during our encounters. I have always been tough on myself. Always setting high standards. I might get that from my mother. I always have to be the best in everything that I do. I should talk to the CSO and get his impression on my performance. It would be better than having to guess how I’m doing and constantly worrying about it. |
