FROM STARBASE 118
Admiral Wolf is saddened to report that Field Captain Aldus Gaius was forced to resign from the United Federation of Planets due to personal difficulties. I know we all join with the Admiral in wishing him the best.
PROMOTIONS
Congratulations to the following officers for their promotions.
- Malea Jolon, Lieutenant Commander, Star Base 118
- Skyfire, Lieutenant, Star Base 118
CURRENT SIM PLOTS
STAR BASE 118
We would like to welcome Ensign Troy Vanyel to our base, as our new COM/OPS officer. While we are awaiting our new captain to be assigned, our Doctor, Lieutenant Commander Jolon, and civilian scientist Doctor Hamlet, along with a small group of medical personnel, have gone to Kylora IV to combat a plague there. On the station, all is quiet after some rather extraordinary events in the last few months.
USS CENTRIS
We were asked to investigate the claims that Federation prisoners from the Klingon Wars were still being held on a distant moon in an uninhabited system. Once there, we have discovered that at least one individual, Imut, is attempting to sell the moon, and that both the Klingons and Romulans are interested in its purchase. The reason for their interest has not yet been discovered. However, both the Klingons and Romulans are quite interested in seeing us leave the bidding, and in fact have threatened to do battle if we do not withdraw from that area of space. As the same time, we have just confirmed that Humanoids, species as yet undetermined, are living on that moon, underneath the crust, and are debating our ability to remain in orbit long enough to rescue them, if need be, and learn the reason for the interest in the moon.
USS FREEDOM-A
First, the USS Freedom-A would like to welcome aboard our newest crew members:
Cadet Ta'el, Medical
Lieutenant Valeris – Security
L-7 - COM/OPS
Right now, the Freedom and a race called the Delarosians are both caught midway between our dimension and another. Another race (those who actually brought us here) spent a great deal of time adjusting our ship. We now believe they were intending to send us back where we came from, after they had finished studying us. However, L-7 is currently formulating a plan to return us immediately to our dimension.

INTERVIEW
This month I am interviewing Lieutenant Vinh-Nein Nguyen, Chief Science Officer of the USS Freedom-A. Sadly, this interview took place shortly before the Freedom disappeared, and the interview could not be concluded.
Why did you choose a career in StarFleet?
I felt that a career in Starfleet would be the most logical thing to do at the time. I wanted to expand my knowledge of the universe and my surroundings and what better way to do it than join Starfleet, where I could travel in space and study astronomical phenomena. I have often been told that I make a great leader, and one of my goals in Starfleet is to command my own vessel.
Would you ideally wish to command a science vessel?
Actually, my vessel of choice would be an exploration vessel, however, a science vessel would be desirable as well. As I stated before, I find research interesting.
No further questions were answered.
OUT OF CHARACTER
We have had a decided slump in new recruits and would appreciate any suggestions about how to increase our membership. Criticisms are appreciated as well. Please write to Fleet Captain Elinor with your ideas. Thanks.
