The Office of the Chief of Science on the USS Doyle-A is located on Deck 9, opposite Astrometrics. It is used by the Chief to conduct work privately and to the best possible standard. It is the duty of the Chief Science Officer to delegate scientific work between the staff and to subsequently review it. As such, the Office has various systems displays throughout, making use of the wall space, and enabling not only review of lab and library data but also of the ship's scientific sensors.

The Office's current occupant, Aigle Phos, has generally only made slight changes to its default configuration. In the corner opposite from her desk she has placed a large whiteboard, covered in calculations for her own research and a large-ish pile of PADDs with her latest experimental data. Nearby is a small knee high bookcase with actual reference books, all in Laudean, mostly covering key constants and chemical data.

Another addition to the room takes the form of two large replicated posters hung opposite from the desk. The leftmost one is a copy of, what is known on Earth as, the WMAP (Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe) Map of Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation. Next to it is a similar image taken by the old Earth ESA (European Space Agency) Planck spacecraft of the shape of the Milky Way's Electromagnetic Field.
