1. 237502.23: Offered a place at the Starfleet Academy after battle with Romulan scout vessel.

T'Raene did not expect to end up in starfleet, at first preferring a civilian lifestyle and was recommended to join later on than most due to her bond-partner, who was a medical officer in Starfleet. She was visiting his ship on the way to a medical conference when the ship was attacked by a romulan scout just outside the neutral zone. Her husband was killed in the attack and T'Raene stepped into his posistion for the battle, serving where she could. When the battle was over and the scouts captured she was offered a position at the starfleet academy as a medical student by the head of their department.

The strict vulcan nearly surprised herself when she took up the offer and managed to pass medical with very good grades. As she attended the Vulcan medical Academy prior this could hardly be seen as a surprise. T'Raene has never been interested in re-marriage after her husband died.
