Professional History
William James Gavin entered the United States Military Academy at West Point on Stardate 237808.20. After completing his four years of schooling he graduated on stardate 238205.21 but opted not to enter the Army and commissioned as an Ensign with the desires to enter Starfleet Academy. Because he graduated from West Point he was only required to complete two years at Starfleet Academy and graduated on Stardate 238405.25. After graduation he was designated a tactical officer officer, promoted to Lt(jg), and assigned to the USS Intrepid.
Lt(jg) Gavin served on the Intrepid until 238512.17, right after making full Lt, and being selected to study for a year at the Vulcan Academy of Science. He was honored for this selected and made the best of his time studying. He graduated on Stardate 238612.05 and after leaving the Vulcan Science Academy he returned to Earth where he would teach at Starfleet Academy for the next eighteen months in both tactical and science. On Stardate 238706.04 Lt Gavin reported to the USS Archer as a new LtCmdr. On 238804.07 LtCmdr Gavin received orders to Starbase-118 for a new assignment to the USS Constitution-B.
