Re: ILI galleries

Yes. I will update both galleries and post a message on the forum about the new templates. Rich (aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh) 18:28, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

No worries. Always happy to help! Rich (aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh) 20:09, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Using images as links

Hi there! I saw your proposed Embassy roster box. It looks nice! You might find it useful to employ the seldom-used link parameter for the character images such as:

which gives you this: Turnercrew.jpg a linked image. Rich (aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh) 13:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks - that's helpful to know! I appreciate the advice. :) Tallis rhul 23:45, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Regarding Temporary pages

Howdy, I saw you have been editing on a temporary work page. Have you considered just editing on the actual pages? That way you will be able to maintain a history and if a reversion has to be made, you won't lose too much of your work. Lance 02:13, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

You should never have to worry about editing the page too much for any reason. In fact, the more revisions allows for a history of how a page evolves and is quite useful when trying to figure out when different events occurred. On another note, a small one, try to avoid using the "this is a minor edit" checkbox. Realistically, it should only be used when dealing with spelling errors or minor formatting issues. I do try to read through most of the revisions and when an entire page is being changed, I can't think of how it could be a minor edit. Of course, this is minor in itself, but something to think about. If you have any questions, or need any help, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Happy contributing! It can be a bit daunting at first, but you are doing a great job. No need for apologies, just trying to help out anyone at any chance I get. :) Lance 07:59, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

LOAs on roster page

Hi there! As I believe you and Aims are the ones most likely to keep the Vigilant's roster up to date, I just wanted to let you know that I've added the LOA listing for the Vigilant to the main roster page as is done with the other ships in the fleet. We want that information to be on the ship's main roster page so that it is transcluded into the larger Fleet Roster for easier personnel tracking purposes (since the Fleet Roster now serves in the same capacity as the UPDS for the general membership). By having the LOA info on the main roster page (and thus the Fleet Roster page), members can easily verify their LOA remains current. You can also help expand the functionality of this feature by noting when the LOA began under "current post". Cheers! –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh 16:36, 2 December 2013 (CST)

New Roster Template

Hey Ed, I've created a new roster template that means we'll no longer have to make cropped images for the crew nav boxes or rosters! I've changed over those that were already using the rosters based on the Garuda's format (except for Apollo pending once I set up the roster template to be able to switch to STO-style pips).

It should make building and maintaining the rosters much easier as well. For instance, take a look at Atlantis Master Crew List. Of course whether other ships including yours and Raj's want to use this template is up to each ship.

You can also see what the Vigilant would look like here. Since you and Aims like Science to be in teal instead of blue, you can also easily toggle that as an option. –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 13:43, 31 January 2014 (CST)

Canon uniforms

Oh don't worry I agree completely about there really being only three canon division colors! The black and violet colors personally also seem wrong to me. Starfleet Intelligence officers in my view should wear red (yes Pressman was an admiral, but I think also given the precedent of Strategic Operations wearing red, it's a suitable color). Black has never been seen, and I believe is more a fan conflation of Section 31 with Starfleet Intelligence, which really shouldn't be as sneaky and adversarial to other officers as I've often seen them simmed. Likewise, I feel diplomatic officers should wear either red or perhaps gold given we saw a gold wearing Ensign assisting Picard with the diplomatic function in Insurrection (although she very well could have been serving as a modern day yeoman, so gold makes sense).

Anyway this bothered me (along with the letter suffixes to ship names) for a while, but now I guess I can see how it makes identifying an officer's post a little easier and people seem to enjoy getting their own special color.

I still hate the Fleet Captain pip. If anything, it should look like Loan's pips when he was posing as deputy director. Fleet Captain isn't a flag officer rank and now commodore has been pushed up into this strange 1.5 stars position with an equally ugly pip that ruins the simplicity of the original pip system. But anyway... :) We need to nerd out on the podcast someday! –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 10:53, 1 February 2014 (CST)
