Personal History
Rana was born into one of the many refugee camps on Valo II that sprung up when her family was forced to flee their home world after the Cardassians invaded Bajor.
She was six years old when the Cardassians finally left Bajor; her father was a respected architect at the time which allowed for her family to be one of the first to be recalled to home world. She couldn’t believe the devastation that was left at the hands of the Cardassians, complete cities were flattened to rubble and resources were raped from the land. It would take years to be restored but with the help from the Federation the time was shortened and now Bajor has once again become prosperous and thriving planet.
As for Rana she went on to study astronomy while on Bajor until finally she took that leap of faith for her love of the stars brought her to Starfleet. It has been a wonderful journey ever since. No where in her imagination would she have ever conceived of the planet Earth and while attending studies in San Francisco she took advantage of her time and visited as many cities and countries that she could. After leaving the Academy Rana was assigned to SB118 until the arrival of the USS Independence. At that time the Independence had arrived through a temporal rift that was opened by a race of alien gate keepers called the Wayfarers and because of this there was a tear in the time continuum causing the Independence to be within the same flux of time although occupying separate points within the universe. It was a rare occurrence but nonetheless the Independence was quarantined for two months while the temporal anomaly was cleared. And it was then that Rana was assigned to the Independence where she was assigned as the Stellar Cartographer until she was once again reassigned from the massive crew transfer to the Ronin, a ship which at first she began to hate but through all this she was happy to be where she was and the crew of the Ronin are her family now.
