- "Quote Needed"
The Deep are a far-away warp-capable species from just beyond the Federation border towards the Galactic South. Deeply isolationist as a people, the Deep rarely concern themselves with aliens unless they need something.

History
Government
Despite their isolationist tendencies, the Deep's government structure does include a Ministry of Interplanetary Relations. Despite their tendency to allow trade with aliens if it benefits them, the Deep's government is very adamant that they keep their sovereignty. 'Grand Meyster' is the title of someone who holds a position of office within a ministry.
Description
The Deep have ridges that line their faces from their temples to their chins, which make their facial expressions simultaneously more intense and harder to read.[1]
Physiology
The Deep's eyes require less lighting than Human standard (about 20-25% dimmer), and the gravity they're accustomed to is a bit higher than that of Humans, though not by much.

Society
A subsection of the Deep are known as the 'Black Moon', and are a group of the Deep who protest against any and all contact with aliens. Grand Meyster Zoos, prior to a trade meeting with Federation representatives, called them 'xenophobic fanatics'.[2]
Culture
The inside of the Deep's ships are decorated by large banners in purples and blues, adorned by something resembling heraldic symbols.
