"Gogi", as he prefers to be known, is 51 in Bardeezan years which makes him 66 in Earth years. Bardeezans have an average life expectancy of around 200 and don't reach maturity until their 50s, therefore physically and psychologically Gogi is closer to someone in their mid-twenties on Earth than someone in their early 50s.

Gogi is not a sentimental person when it comes to possessions, but there are two things he brought with him from Bardeez which he couldn't imagine being without. One is his Bardeezan beeswax which he uses to help tame his mane of hair and beard, the second is his curved and serrated Bardeezan-style Bowie knife, given to him by his father.

He also has a portrait hanging in his quarters at the Embassy which he brought with him from Earth, it is of 20th Century British explorer Captain Lawrence Oates and is titled 'A Very Gallant Gentleman' by John Charles Dollman.
