The Phoenix is an immortal winged creature from the ancient mythologies of Earth. The fiery bird of golds and reds flies far ahead looking to the future, exploring the environment and the events unfolding within it. It is a creature of great strength and beauty that can both terrify and inspire those who gaze upon it. Like the mythical creature it is named after, the USS Phoenix-C has symbolically risen from the ashes many times and does so once again after undergoing a transformative refit in early of 2394. The refit included an upgrade to her warp reactor, the installation of a QSSD, and minor upgrades to her weapons, computer core, and facilities. The final piece to her transformation is the addition of a Typhonic Shielding Device developed through collaboration with the Laudean Academy of Fielding and Science. | |||

In late Spring of 2386 the Phoenix arrived at [[DS17|Deep Space 17]] inside the [[Ithassa Region]], transporting both personnel and equipment to the aged starbase. As the starbase was bombed, a group of [[Ixvapyan|Ixvapyans]] lead by their warlord, Hadrian beamed aboard and stole the Phoenix from dock. It was taken across Ithassa and into the [[Bull's Run]] [[Way Corridor System|Way Corridor]] before the crew of the [[USS Independence-A]] retook the Phoenix from the remnants of the warrior race outside the galaxy at [[Odyssey Station]].
