He's formed a working relationship with her, but a personal one was harder to stablish, sometimes because of work schedule, sometimes due to missions separating them, sometimes because they have different interests and friends on the ship. He hoped to improve their relationship, maybe suggesting some off duty activities, like joining her fantasy worlds holoprograms. Unfortunately for him, she's transferred to the USS Chin'toka at 240107.19 but he promised himself to stay in contact via subspace. Who knows what the future will hold...
