Sera’s worldview up until leaving Vulcan to enter Starfleet Academy was incredibly insular even to mainstream Vulcan’s standard. This was due in part to her rather unorthodox upbringing within a remote clan (Lyr Zor) that could trace back their origins to well before the time of Surak.  Isolated by remote geography in the Southern hemisphere, Lyr T'aya is an ancient walled city abutting the Vuldi Gorge; and does not make a habit of welcoming nonmembers.

The ancient Lyr Zor, once spoken of in fervent whispers, were secretive, martial in nature, and were utilized by some Royal Houses as spies and assassins, if the price was right. They were one of the last clans to adopt Surak’s teachings and, even then, did not open themselves to outsiders. Much of the clan’s social customs, behaviors, and hierarchy are still unknowns even in modern day, as Lyr Zor clan members do not discuss their ways with outsiders, including other Vulcans.

* [[Kettick]]
One tends to create a bond with another when both experience out-of-body experiences together.  Kettick and Sera got an opportunity to play dress-up in an alien holosuite program which didn’t require their corporeal bodies to participate.  Sera finds Kettick’s thought processes fascinating and finds his presence most acceptable.  Once Sera’s secret got out (in her defense she had skipped meditation), Kettick informed her that if ever another need for a champion arose, he would volunteer.  Indeed.

* [[Aratta Eriddu]]
Newly minted, and full of enthusiasm, Sera took the initiative to get the Ensign off of the bridge during a challenging mission.  There is much potential in Ensign Aratta, and Sera found working with the science officer most engaging.  It will be interesting to see how their interactions continue.
