Sera was unable to achieve mastery over her emotions in the way that her family and clan required as the Lyr Zor devoted themselves to the most orthodox interpretations of Surak’s philosophy, espousing emotions were not to be suppressed but eliminated. Her entire Vulcan worldview has been skewed through the lenses of her clan’s “eyes.” Sera became a black sheep within her family and the community, with an inquisitive nature and struggles to subsume and eliminate her emotions. | Sera was unable to achieve mastery over her emotions in the way that her family and clan required as the Lyr Zor devoted themselves to the most orthodox interpretations of Surak’s philosophy, espousing emotions were not to be suppressed but eliminated. Needless to say, after her pre-marital bond was dissolved, Sera abandoned her family and community and fled to Shir'Kahr for the express purpose of learning the required Federation Standard and taking the Starfleet entrance exam.

Sera, on the surface, is logical and stoic. As she never left her home before leaving for the Academy, and she is in many ways innocent and naïve. She quiet and dependable, but few really know her at all. Hers is one face amongst many, often overlooked. However, this has given her a tremendous amount of freedom to study those around her. She “enjoys” understanding how things work, and the solitude has given her the opportunity to analyze and evaluate those around her. That desire for dissecting things to achieve complete understanding is what drove her to declare as an Engineering major. Malfunctioning equipment did not mock her social ignorance, and a code is a code is a code and nothing else. | Sera, on the surface, is logical and stoic. As she has no family (that will claim her), Sera has found herself adrift and attempting to adapt to life aboard a starship. She is finding her footing within the engineering department, and amongst her fellow engineering colleagues, and thusly is starting to experiment with various social interactions such as humor and sarcasm. This is being met with mixed results. More research and experimentation much be performed at this time.
