'''Chomyi "George' Areto''' -- A graduate student at Dr. Bell's research facility, she and Joan share a burgeoning friendship. Areto is currently finishing up her thesis project at the Deluvian research station, in order to receive a doctorate in computer programming from the Daystrom Institute of Technology on Mars. Besides working on her thesis project, Areto also does all the odd jobs at the research station that do not fall neatly into the assigned duties of the other research station personnel. Areto has recently informed Joan she would like to pursue a romantic relationship with her, which threatens Joan into a panic.
