The El-Aurian was a big inspiration for Jo during her final years at the Academy. They became good friends and share a similar outlook on life.

Growing up on a colony was one of the benefits of being a child of two Starfleet Officers. Jo was born on a starship, then raised on Volan III after the Dominion War as her parents were part of Starfleet’s efforts to maintain the DMZ. Nevertheless, there were no problems and Jo enjoyed a relatively simple childhood with Federation schooling.

Her interest in Engineering started from a young age, under the influence of her mother and father, both Engineers with specialised fields. The large mining operation on the colony was fuel for experience and Jo had started working with the machines in her early teenage years. She played Springball for the Volan III Team at the championship. Initially, she had considered staying on the colony and working for the mining operation, however living on the colony had driven her slightly stir crazy.

Focused and driven to find the solution to the problem, Jo was a capable Engineer from the offset at the Academy and learned quickly. She was deployed to the Fleet Operations Center and has worked on some of the most recent fleet vessels in the field. Specialising in Warp Propulsion Theory, she worked tirelessly to become one of the leading new Engineers on graduation, requesting deployment to Starbase 118 Fleet.
She plays Springball in her downtime, enjoys working on engineering projects on the side, builds and rides vintage Earth motorcycles (and sometimes cars) in the Holodeck and relaxes with yoga to quieten her mind. Keeping fit is a large part of her lifestyle, including cardio training and weightlifting. She lives for coffee and Bajoran makapa bread, with the crust.

''In the coding above, delete two of the headings so that only one remains. You can then type here as if you were writing on notepad to drop in some information about your character. If you want to use bullets, copy and paste the star above. You can also look on the forums and the wiki for tutorials on how to use more adventurous coding. Want to include sections for Background, Personality AND Career History? Just copy the code for the title bar above, then paste it in type in the title you want - you can add extra sections in too!''

:''To end your bio, we're going to drop in some code here for your ship's crew template, which should appear at the bottom of your bio and will help members of the fleet easily browse other bios of your shipmates. Change the name of the ship below to whatever the name of your character's ship is, unless of course you've been assigned to the USS Gemini! Don't forget the letter suffix for your ship if yours has one (such as the USS Darwin-A).''
