While recuperating, Theo comes up with an idea to use the holo emitters to detect cloaked intruders- although the intruder is apprehended before they are modified. Brek then has Theo cleared for duty so he can help to plan a covert operate to destroy an Iconian Gateway on Avronis at the behest of beings claiming to be Iconian. While installing a cloaking device- obtained from Tal Shiar prisoners- on a shuttle, Theo meets [[Flynn, Antero|Antero Flynn]] for the first time and is immediately attracted to him (although he fails to realise this). The covert mission is a complete success. For his devotion to duty, Theo is promoted to full Lieutenant and becomes Columbia's Chief Engineer.
