! style="background:#ffffff;" align="left" |Francis Pierce was a human administrator who worked at one of the large dockyards on Luna. Though Vincent never new his grandfather, his mother, Olivia, spoke of Francis often. He was a hard working man who enjoyed music most of all. He was known to come home from a long day at work to relax in a large, comfortable chair, with classical music playing. Francis was said to be a kind, gentle soul, but one who was firm and strict when the situation called for it. He was killed in a shuttle accident with his wife, Margarita, on stardate 236407.9.

! style="background:#ffffff;" align="left" |Vincent's mother was a woman by the name Olivia Pierce, who was born on stardate 234805.13 in New Berlin, on the Lunar Colonies, to Francis Pierce and Margarita Craig Pierce. Her father was an adminstrator for one of the large dockyards on Luna station and her mother was the mayor of New Berlin.

Ever since she was young, Olivia had had a keen interest in music, mostly fueled by her father, who played music at every opportunity. This love of music led to her learning the Cello and, eventually, enroling in an esteemed music program at a university on Vegra IV.

Pierce had a very special relationship with his mother, since there weren't many people on the planet, the two of them spent much time together. Pierce was devastated upon her death and one of his goals in life is to exact vengence on the people responsible.

After his time in prison, Pierce decided that he would join Starfleet in order to gain some direction in his life.

Pierce moved to Earth in late 2385 where he prepared for his entrance exam into Starfleet Academy. He failed in his first two attempts to gain entrance to the Acadamy and almost gave up when finally, after his third try, he was succesfully admitted. Sampson was an average student at the Academy, he excelled in history, did well in military tactics and received good grades in piloting. The sciences, while he found them fascinating, were almost beyond his comprehension. He only barely passed the chemistry finals, with his Acadamy friend Lon Tunor, a Betazoid. Gregory wasn't an especially athletic person, however he excelled at martial arts. Winning two championships in his years at the Academy, accomplishments he is very proud of.
