He applied and was accepted to the Federation Centre for Xenobiology Research where Saveron completed his PhD in Xenobiology, studying Xenononosis, the process whereby a disease passes from one alien species to another. Here he came under the tutelage of Professor Ramsey Bakewell, an eminent and respected Xenosociologist who had a profound influence on Saveron and greatly assisted with his adaption, at a mature age, to the poly-species culture of the wider Federation, and encouraged him to enter Starfleet, as the logical place to gain greatest exposure to alien patients. | He applied and was accepted to the Federation Centre for Xenobiology Research where Saveron completed his PhD in Xenobiology, studying Xenononosis, the process whereby a disease passes from one alien species to another. Following his graduation, Saveron was assigned to the USS Ronin under the command of Captain Toni Turner, and transferred with the rest of her crew to the Federation Embassy on Duronis II. Captain Turner's origins as a medical officer meant that Saveron respected her greatly as a commanding officer. He developed good working relationships with the majority of the crew, but particularly those members who had joined at or around the same time; Engineer Jaxon McGhee, Marine Isaac Green and Counsellor Ashley Yael. | Following his graduation, Saveron was assigned to the USS Ronin under the command of Captain Toni Turner, and transferred with the rest of her crew to the Federation Embassy on Duronis II. The USS Thunder - the support ship assigned to the Embassy - was on a routine patrol of the Sandbar under then Lieutenant Commander Tallis Rhul when Saveron began acting strangely. It later became apparent that, through contact with some Bajoran relics, the good doctor had been possessed by a Pah Wraith. Forcibly mind-melding with Lt. Isaac Green in an act of mental rape to force his compliance, Saveron used their combined clearances to take over the ship, nearly succeeding in taking it to DS9 to stage a Reckoning, before the ship's crew fought back. Control of the ship and Lt. Green were regained, but Saveron escaped and made his way to the hangar bay, where he was confronted by Lt. Anora Manar possessed by a Prophet. Their comflict threatened to destroy the Thunder, until the crew were able to cobble together a chroniton generator and banish both beings from their hosts. | The USS Thunder - the support ship assigned to the Embassy - was on a routine patrol of the Sandbar under then Lieutenant Commander Tallis Rhul when Saveron began acting strangely. Following his own internal struggle with the Pah Wraith, Saveron found his personal composure and emotional control great compromised, and it took some time to rebuild. During this time he was counselled by Counsellor Ashley Yael. It was an interesting juxtaposition because Saveron as the ship's Doctor was assisting Yael with his own health issues surrounding his enurodegenerative dissorder. The Doctor and the Counsellor built up a strong working relationship adn became particularly firm friends, perhaps partly because of the similar nature of their work and partly because of their similar personalities and preferences. Both were intelligent, pacifists, not overly social and because of species preferences avoid casual physical contact. Saveron also developed a great respect for the newly promoted Commander Tallis Rhul, who not only brought the ship intact through a nearly impossible problem, but did not place any blame on the officers involved, although Saveron blamed himself. Unfortunately the incident damanged his working relationship with Lt. Green. Even though the man laid no blame with him, the intimate and offensive nature of their prior mental contact made the two men stiffly formal with each other. | Following his own internal struggle with the Pah Wraith, Saveron found his personal composure and emotional control great compromised, and it took some time to rebuild. ==Kidnapped==
The damaged USS Thunder returned to orbit around Duronis II for repairs, and the crew settled in to enjoy some well-earned shore leave. Their rest was cut short however with the kidnapping of Lt. Hella along with the Laudean Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, Vail Daysa. The crew took once more to the USS Thunder to persue the local crime lord in his black market Romulan runabout before he could reach his destination and sell Mr Daysa to his client who wanted a powerful Fielder. The pirate runabout was trapped in the Sandbar and successfully taken over, Vail reunited with his pregnant wife Britta Daysa and lomale Arlon Berindi. However the link to the criminal ring that wanted Fielders had to be neutralised.
In the meantime Saveron was dealing with the issue of Counsellor Ashley Yael's alcoholism. Prescribing his friend a strict detoxification regime, he found himself the subject of Ashley's ire, a disagreeable situation. This did not stop him from responding to his friend's distress call when Ashley collapsed in severe withdrawal, having withheld the full extent of his addiction from his friend and doctor. Saveron stayed up with him through the night, and in the morning arranged for a supply of medications that would quell the symptoms, and cleared his friend for duty.
It was decided that a selection of the Thunder's crew would go undercover aboard the Romulan runabout, disguised as the criminal Laudeans and other pirate associates. Saveron was heavily involved in the alterations necessary for the ruse. He himself went dressed as a Romulan. Commander Tallis Rhul took charge of the ship, which set out to make the rendevous with the criminals' Orionese contacts. During the flight however Ashley Yael's symptoms started to get the better of him, rapidly becomming obvious to the rest of the crew. Both Yael and Saveron received a severe dressing down from Commander Tallis, the former for potentially endangering the mission and the latter for allowing him to do so.
The subterfuge proved an unmittigated disaster, the crew were found out, and only just managed to escape with all members. The Orionese ship proved to house a weapon that would be used to attack Deep Space Nine, and with this information the Marines and Engineers combined forces to destroy the Orionese ship and neutralise it's threat.
===USS Mercury=== | |||
Following a three month leave on Vulcan, Saveron was assigned to the USS Mercury.
==Ghosteroid== | |||
An exploratory mission turned First Contact event when the Away Team on an asteroid with high levels of Dilithium turned out to be inhabited, Saveron's primary role was patching up the wounded when the inhabitant's main weapon proved to be psychological, and drove much of the Away Team temporarily mad.

Heading deeper into the Menthar Corridor, Captain Tallis Rhul reveals that in addition to their primary mission of exploration, the USS Mercury is also under orders from Starfleet Intelligence to undertake secret reconnaisence of Cardassian resources and military, using the ship's advanced sensor pod. Commander Hannibal Parker and Commander Tobias Walker advocate expanding the Mercury's paultry offensive capabilities in case of attack. Saveron pointed out that to do so could make the Mercury appear as a greater threat, one that the Cardassians would feel they had to answer, and that if their spy mission was revealed, it could well trigger interstellar war. This led to a heated discussion with Saveron and Parker rapidly polarising to opposite sides of the debate, which the two in fact felt compelled to continue in the corridor. No agreement was reached, and it seemed to mark the beginning of sour relations between the pacifist and the warrior.
