*Leutra IV
*Leutra IV

During Sera's first mission aboard the Gorkon she was part of an away team investigating Leutra IV. This planet shouldn't exist in theory due to it's lush temperate M-class status and it's orbit around a Magnetars. While on the planet, there was a massive solar flare that knocked out all the team's equipment and forced them to find cover in a nearby cave system. Sera awoke in darkness and remembered that she had fallen into a pitfall upon entering the cave, cut off and in darkness she was able to signal for help but was rescued by mechanical spiders, known as the 'Keepers' who acted as caretakers of the cave. Unfortunately, she believed they were going to eat her and resisted her rescue until she was dropped at the feet of her away team. Sera assisted in uploading of Federation Standard to the Keepers and served the rest of the mission by repairing and recharging personal equipment. While in the cave Fleet, Captain Reynolds ordered Sera, Ensign MacFarlane and Lt. Commander Millis to salvage a secondary com array from a wrecked Ranger shuttle what had been swallowed by a sinkhole, they were able to use to contact the Gorkon and arrange a rescue.
Sera's first mission takes place in the underground cave complex of Leutra IV. Sera makes her introduction to the rest of the crew in an unforgettable manner and gains a permanent fear of spiders.

<div class="mw-collapsible-content"> Waking up in complete darkness, in a cave under the surface of Leutra IV is not how I expected my career as a starfleet officer to begin. It took me a few confused minutes to remember that a massive solar flare that knocked out all our equipment and forced us underground, but I still don't remember how I got trapped in a fissure. Four years of Starfleet academy and not once was being buried alive in a cave mentioned. I managed to signal for help but my rescuers were a heard of giant spiders, I've never been so scared. I was convinced that I was going to be spiderfood, how was I to know that they were mechanical spiders? They dropped me literally kicking and screaming at the admiral's feet, oh god… I'd even started biting them while they carried me. The first time my ship mates see me and have a mouthful of metal spider and my face was covered in hydraulic fluid. I hope suggesting and uploading Federation Standard to spiders, the 'Keepers', restored some faith in my ability as an officer. Thankfully they turned out to be peaceful and never made a complaint about me.

While manning the Helm for the first time during a journey from the Earth to the Tyrellian System, the Gorkon suffered a critical failure of the quantum slipstream drive leaving the Gorkon stranded in the deadly Roman Expanse. The nebular had a constantly shifting interior and was filled with plasma and electrokinetic storms. During the attempt to escape the Nebular, Sera was assigned to the Engineering team tasked with restarting the ships failed warp core. During their stay, two life forms were discovered to inhabit the nebular, telepathic creatures with a limited shapeshifting ability and a Subspace Starfish which feed off of the power of stranded ships. Sera's team was able to restart the warp drive but only after the rest of the crew devised a way to fight the Subspace creature which had been feeding off of the Gorkons power.
While at the Helm of the Gorkon, the ship suffers a catastrophic failure of the slipstream drive leaving the Gorkon stranded in the deadly Roman Expanse. Sera joins the Engineering team who attempt to restart the warp core, as their efforts progress they realise that there is a subspace creature feeding on the ship.

My first time at the helm and the ship suffers a critical failure of the Quantum Slipstream Drive. No one blamed me but it felt like a punch to the gut, or that feeling might be because the helm console was slammed into my stomach during the emergence exit from warp. Thankfully the inertial dampeners held out and stopped us all from turning into a squishy mess. I got to work closely with Commander Sevo, Lieutenant's Stoyer and Marshall in restarting the Warp core. It was one for the books, we had to use old Warp Plasma Canisters and then cold start the drive. Turns out we had a subspace creature feeding on the ships EPS conduit network and not a small creature, this was a giant subspace octopus which had snared the Gorkon. Me, Cory and Jo saw the monster's tentacles phase through the walls without creating a breach. I imagen Starfleet Command will quarantine that region of space, we saw some old ships there before we escaped, so that creature must have been feeding for a long time.

*Starbase 173
*Starbase 173

While investigating the disappearance of the crew and civilian population from Starbase 173, Sera was assigned to a team under Commander Vess. The team first inspected the SS Wayne Trace then moved onto the Cargo Storage area where they were attacked by Cadet Karen Worthington who believed the team to be a rogue element of Starfleet. Subdued, Karen revealed that she had been protecting a group of children and led the team to three Science officers who'd taken refuge in the station's hospital. While there, they were attacked by the Orion Syndicate. The combined force of Starfleet officers fought off the attack, before capturing an insectoid creature that had poisoned one of the science officers. The crew of the Starbase was returned from fissures using ancient Romulan artifacts which the other away teams had discovered.
Sent to investigate the disappearance of the crew and civilian population from Starbase 173, the crew of the Gorkon stumble across an Orion Syndicate plot to steal ancient Romulan artifacts. During this mission Sera engages in her first taste of combat, defending the station's hospital from Orion invaders.

I'm not really in the mood for a personal log right now but the counsellor says it will be good for me….
The Orion Syndicate just killed my friend and tortured my ship mates. If I ever see Underlord Leelou, I'll [CENSORED] [REDACTED] her. Me wearing this Starfleet uniform wont [CENSORED] save her...  I suppose I should start at the beginning.

We were sent to investigate starbase 173 which had gone silent and devoid of all life signs. My team discovered that there were in fact survivors, a Cadet was held up with a group of children from the stations school in one of the cargo holds. They were shielding their life signs using bio-inhibitors, a fact we learned after the cadet attacked us like a wild animal using her empty rifle as a club. She some wild theories, but she was able to give us some useful information. A few officers from the science department had survived and were heading to the stations hospital with wounded. We found them about a minute before the Orion Syndicate announced their presence by assaulting us, we held them off using phasers, blades and even knockout gas but others on the station weren't as lucky. My Friend Leigh McMann was stabbed through the chest and another team were gassed on the orders of the Syndicate's leader, Leelou.

Oh, and there were more subspace monsters, insects this time. Thankfully my team only saw one of them.

During the Gorkon's mission to the Romulan Republic colony of Ih'aesn, Sikuna, Sera led her first away Mission. Her team was charged with investigating the how the Verteron Array's complex security was penetrated. While meeting with Ivam Tonalak, the security supervisor for the facility. An explosion ripped through the Mess Hall, an attempt to kill those who Tonalak trusted. The team assisted with the suppression of the resulting fire before being attacked by the saboteur, once subdued the team realised that the attacker was Andorian but had undergone a process to appear Romulan. After reporting their findings to Commander Reynolds, the team was transported to the recently discovered IRW D'delnor to assist in the seizing of the bridge. Sera and her team led the assault on the bridge, with her team causing a diversion from the turbolift access while other teams attacked the bridge crew in the flanks via access tubes. Despite the assault being successfully, there were many casualties including Sera, who was stabbed twice in the side of her torso.
